Recipe blogging community interaction

by Dave Doolin on October 14, 2010

A fair number (not all) hRecipe users choose to send a trackback, so I get to see some of the recipes people are posting.

And that’s pretty cool!

Sadly, very few people posting recipes have many comments on their recipes, and have little traffic to their blogs overall.

And that’s even more sad.

I think I can help.

Sometime in the near future, I’m going to promote trackbacks as a way for you, the hRecipe user, to help find other people who are posting interesting recipes. Once you have found interesting people and delicious recipes, you will be able to connect with those bloggers directly. One of the best ways to connect is by leaving comments on the recipe blog post.

When you leave a comment, ask questions about the recipe if you’re curious. If you tried the recipe, give some feedback. Invite other food and recipe bloggers to comment back on your recipes. It’s not hard, and doesn’t take very long. And the community you build makes it worthwhile.

I have written somewhere in excess of 70 recipes using h-recipe over the last 6 months. I was under the impression that they would appear on Google searches with the photo on the left and the stars in gold, etc. like other recipes I encounter. Am I doing something wrong? And is there a “print recipe” feature in the offing? Thanks, just wondering.
